摘要
民国时期是我国现代书籍封面兴起的重要时期,书籍封面从传统封面以素面加书名题签的固定格式逐渐发展到以图案作封面。以陶元庆为代表的艺术家是我国现代书籍封面设计的拓荒者,《苦闷的象征》开创了新文艺书籍以图案画作封面的先河,之后陶元庆又创作了一些经典的封面作品。可以说陶元庆的封面设计有力地促进了中国现代书籍封面的萌发,也为当代书籍封面设计提供了诸多可借鉴的研究案例。
The period of the Republic of China is an important period of modern book cover's upsurge. Book covers have gradually evolved from the traditional fixed format of plain cover with book title tags to covers with various patterns. Artists represented by Tao Yuan-qing are pioneers in the design of modern book covers in China. "The Symbol of Depression" created a pioneer of new literary and artistic books with pictorial covers. Then Tao created some classic covers. It could be said that Tao's cover design has effectively promoted the germination of the cover of modern books in China, and has also provided many references for contemporary book cover design.
