摘要

翁同龢是晚清政界颇有影响的历史人物,其法律活动与思想值得研究。在处理中外交涉上,他为保护人民利益,捍卫国家主权与领土完整,维护民族尊严与独立自主做出了积极努力。但他也参与了《中德胶澳租界条约》的签订,丧权辱国的责任不可推卸。
Weng Tonghe is an influential historical figure in the political circles of the late Qing Dynasty. His legal activities and thoughts are worth studying. In dealing with foreign negotiations, he made active efforts to protect the interests of the people, safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and defend national dignity and independence. But he also participated in the signing of the Sino-German Jiaoao Concession Treaty, and his responsibility of humiliating the country by forfeiting its sovereignty cannot be shirked.
