摘要
自由曲面在产品的设计中应用越来越广泛。由于自由曲面建模自由度多,造型方法复杂,需要较高的数学基础,这些问题严重束缚了技术人员的设计灵感。鉴于此,人们试图将规则模型的特征造型技术引入自由曲面造型,并针对自由曲面特征的概念、分类和参数化等问题进行研究,取得了一些成果。自由曲面特征建模技术,可以有效地提高产品设计效率,降低造型难度。本文总结了面向设计的自由曲面特征建模技术相关研究成果,对自由曲面特征的定义、分类、参数化、编辑与提取方法等进行了系统研究,并通过对已有成果的归纳总结,指出该项技术目前仍然存在的问题及解决的思路,最后展望了自由曲面特征造型技术的发展前景。
        In engineering,more and more products contain freeform surface. Because of more modeling freedoms,freeform surface modeling is very complex, and requires a deep mathematical knowledge about rational surface descriptions. These issues always puzzle the designer,and seriously fetter their inspiration. As a result,extending feature modeling systems with capabilities for freeform shapes is therefore much desired. Series of research have been carried out about the freeform feature modeling. Some fascinating results were obtained. Freeform features modeling may improve the modeling efficiency and make modeling more intuitive. This paper surveys the current state of the art in freeform feature modeling,describes freeform feature concepts,classification,parameterization,modification,and points out its shortcomings and solution. The most interesting prospects of this emerging field are outlined at the end of this paper.
