摘要
因特网是二十世纪人类最伟大的发明之一,它直接或间接地影响了人们生活的各个方面,这其中以对语言的影响最为引人注目。David Crystal认为网络对语言的影响将在语言领域内引发一场新语言革命。
本文旨在揭示一种新兴的语言形式——因特网聊天室中的语言特点。网络聊天用语是一个相当年轻的研究课题,对其进行系统的探讨和分析是适应网络语言发展的迫切需要。
从目前来看,由于英语是网络中使用最多的语言,本文的侧重点也主要放在英语网聊用语上。
基于网络传播的特点,网络通讯可以分为即时通讯和非即时通讯。本文所要研究的语言变体是其中的即时网上聊天用语,即互联网上的聊天室用语。词汇学是本文的主要理论依据。本文试图从词汇学的词汇变异角度分析这一网语变体的词汇形成规律。
本文运用词汇变异及词汇构成等方面的理论知识,对网络聊天室的语料进行分析,希望深入了解网络聊天语言的词汇构成及语言特点,这对于帮助人们更好的了解及正确的看待这种新型语言变体有一定的参考价值。
本文主要采取定性的分析手法,分析该网语变体的词汇构成特点。文中所采用的例子和材料主要来自相关书面材料和网上下载语料。其中,相关材料主要参考现有的与网络用语有关的书籍材料以及网上文章。网上语料主要指在上网过程中在英文聊天室下载的即时聊天用语。为了客观真实的反映网络聊天语言的特点,许多语料都是即时从雅虎及ICQ等网站的聊天室下载下来的。
当然,随着网络和信息技术的进步,网语也将不断发展。本文所做的,仅是在词汇学的层面对当前网语表现出的某些词汇特点及构成方式进行尝试性研究,由于篇幅有限,不可能面面俱到,这也说明今后在网络聊天用语方面,还需要更深入的研究。
The 21~(st) century is an information age. With the rapid development of computer technology and network, the Internet, as a communication medium, has attracted worldwide users' attention. Because of its convenience and efficiency, more and more people have accesses to the Internet, which now has penetrated into many aspects of people's lives, and brought about many changes, among which the changes of languages are obvious. Some of the changes are so drastic that they have drawn great attention from linguistics. As David Crystal (2001) says, "if the Internet is a revolution, therefore, it is likely to be a linguistic revolution".This linguistic revolution is reflected in various Internet situations such as e-mails, web pages, chat rooms, etc. Among them, virtual communication in the chat rooms is foregrounded, and it is necessary and valuable for us to have a systematic analysis on the new deviated ways of language communication by applying established linguistic theories. It is hoped that the study will enable people to have a better understanding of the chatting languages online, so that they can communicate more smoothly and skillful in the chat rooms.Since a large number of new English words and expressions are emerging in the Internet chat rooms on the Internet, this dissertation is aimed at exploring and probing the linguistic features of Chatting language online in English from the perspective of lexical variation and formation. It is hoped that the study will be helpful and beneficial to the development of computer-mediated communication.The study is conducted by observing and analyzing the data downloaded from the Internet chat rooms in various famous websites such as: yahoo, ICQ, etc.
